Driving Sustainability Forward: Fresenius Launches New Group-wide Sustainability Framework
Fresenius has introduced a new Sustainability Framework designed to strengthen the way sustainability is embedded across the Group. This marks an important step in ensuring our activities have even greater impact – for patients, colleagues, communities, and the environment.
The framework reflects Fresenius’ clear stance: sustainability is indispensable to long-term success. By responding to technological change and global challenges, Fresenius is taking proactive steps to ensure a healthier planet and the well-being of people.
Built on existing commitments, the framework provides a binding structure that will help Fresenius companies – including IHSS – align activities, share expertise, and achieve stronger outcomes. It also supports the #FutureFresenius transformation and Rejuvenate phase, directly contributing to our strategic priorities:
- Enhancing core businesses through quality and efficiency.
- Scaling therapy platforms in specialised (Bio)Pharma, targeted MedTech, and holistic Care Provision.
Sarah Tix, Head of Group Sustainability, highlighted the vision behind the initiative:
“With the Sustainability Framework, we ensure that our efforts have even greater impact. With a clear, Group-wide focus and as One Team, we target the areas where we can make the biggest difference and take an important step toward embedding sustainability more systematically into all our activities.”
Nine Focus Topics
At the heart of the framework are nine focus areas that define where Fresenius can make the most meaningful difference. Each focus topic will have measurable targets and indicators, complementing existing goals such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions along the value chain.
As part of Fresenius, IHSS is proud to support this direction and continue advancing sustainable practices in healthcare and sterile services. Together, we are helping shape a future where care for patients goes hand-in-hand with care for the planet.
